About George George Wilson first graduated from the University of Liverpool, with a 2:1 degree in Sports Studies (1998). He then went on to study at the University of Central Lancashire, acquiring a Certificate in Education (2000)Following this George studied at Liverpool John Moore's University (JMU) Centre of Excellence, the Henry Cotton Sports Science Campus, and gained an M.Sc., Master Of Sport Physiology (2003). During his M.Sc, George's dissertation centred on vitamin C as a supplement, and its affect on salivary immunoglobulin (IGA) after heavy bouts of standardised exercise in footballers. A very new area of research in this sport. George also studied cardiology and exercise, and Electrocardiogram testing. Whilst studying at JMU, George worked as Tranmere Rovers FC’s first team fitness coach and nutritionist, under the management of ex-Everton and England centre half, Dave Watson (2001 - 2002). After this George worked as a university lecturer, he also spoke at private conferences on all aspects of exercise physiology. George started ‘Wilsonhealth’ in August 2003 and thus made available an affordable and unique centre for testing health and fitness under scientific conditions. The centre has been described as ‘an MOT for the body’! The Wilsonhealth client base includes world-class elite athletes, such as ex-British super-middleweight champion Tony Dodson, ex-professional international footballers - Dave Watson, Alan Kennedy, and John Aldridge, and top flat racing jockey Francis Norton. In the past, George has advised several professional and semi-professional soccer teams, including LutonTown and Southport FC. In addition, George has written, and contributed to, several articles on exercise physiology. He is also a regular guest on both Radio City and Radio Merseyside discussing professionally related topics. The majority of the current client base range from club recreational athletes with sport specific testing, such as anaerobic threshold testing, across to individuals with a plethora of pathological conditions (hypertension, type 1 and 2 diabetics, Parkinson's disease, high cholesterol, clinical obesity, etc).
