
John Naylor - Professional Boxing Coach - British Boxing Board of Control (BBB’of’C) Licensed Trainer

John offers one-to-one sessions or group sessions, in all aspects of boxing fitness work (speed, reaction time, power, strength & conditioning, speed/endurance, and cardiovascular fitness), and boxing skills. John’s works with a wide variety of clients, from beginners through to the more experienced athlete. On induction, John discusses client’s goals and objectives, and adapts all training to the client’s abilities. Several health checks are undertaken, in conjunction with Wilsonhealth, during induction and before training programmes commence, to ensure safe practice. John acknowledges that boxing training methods are now much more modern than previously, and has embraced the greater emphasis on the need for coaches to understand anatomy, exercise physiology, including the important roles of hydration and nutrition. From this acquired knowledge John emphasises the role of nutrition in boosting client’s performance (blood sugar important for feeding brain and central nervous system) and boosting immune system post-exercise.
One-to-One sessions - £35.00 per hour
Classes - £10.00 per client per hour (maximum 4 clients)

Having been involved in boxing for over 31 years, John Naylor is a well-known personality in local and national boxing circles. John has boxed at every level of amateur boxing from junior to senior, winning national titles in the process, and representing England on numerous occasions. His career naturally progressed into the professional ranks, having thirteen paid contests. In 1994, John’s promising professional career was unfortunately cut short by injury. Following this, John joined ranks with the ‘highly revered’ boxing coach John Rice, turning his skills and vast knowledge to training his peers.

John provides personal training in a number of fully equipped gyms throughout the city. These include two city centre gyms, Executive Fitness Clinics, Old Haymarket and a private gym on Myrtle Street. In addition, John works out of Pro-Flex Gym in Garston, and Gemini Boxing Gym, The Parade, Speke. Clients can choose which facility to use, and are welcome to sample all four centres.
